Zsa Zsa Toms is a researcher interested in improving the health status of vulnerable communities through sustainable capacity building.

Prior to joining Action Research, Zsa Zsa worked with the Poughkeepsie Mothers Project developing a nutrition education course for WIC and SNAP-eligible mothers with pre-existing conditions including diabetes, preeclampsia, and hypertension. She researched and designed a program supporting culturally relevant and dual-language health education to support the long-term health of the local community. Her master’s thesis research was on the relationship between social vulnerability and Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy, using spatial analysis to analyze geographic and sociodemographic variations in vaccine uptake.

Zsa Zsa holds a B.A. in Urban Studies and Economics from Vassar College and an MPH from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, concentrating in Sociomedical Sciences and Health Promotion Research.
