June Simon

senior Research Associate

June Simon is a social worker and researcher with interests in violence prevention, child development, and systems improvement.

Prior to joining Action Research, June led or contributed to child welfare research projects with Casey Family Programs, the University of Washington School of Social Work, and the National Council for Adoption. These included a first-of-its-kind landscape analysis of trends and gaps in federal and philanthropic funding for child welfare research, national and state-based evaluations of training and support programs for resource families, and a review of factors linked to foster parent retention.

She additionally served as a research analyst and former fellow at the Joshua Center on Child Sexual Abuse Prevention, where she studied interventions, policies, and practices designed to protect youth from sexual abuse.

June holds a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Washington and a BS in Political Science and Business Administration from Northeastern University.
