Grace Carter

Research Analyst

Grace Carter is a child and family health researcher interested inthe dissemination, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based practices, toward facilitating demonstrable improvements in families’ lives.
Prior to joining Action Research, Grace served as the Community Impact Fellow at the United Way of Greater Charlotte, where she worked to develop evaluation capacity for local nonprofit organizations, with a focus on centering equity and effective
measurement. She previously worked at The Baker Center for Children and Families, where she served as the program assistant for the Center for Effective Therapy and the Quality Care Initiative. Her responsibilities included managing clinic operations, leading quantitative data collection, conducting caregiver interviews, and supporting quality improvement efforts for agencies nationwide
participating in therapist trainings hosted by the Center.
Grace’s master’s thesis research explored caregivers’ role in youth functioning within bereaved families, evaluating associations between indicators of caregiver and youth functioning as well as the caregiver-child relationship. Her undergraduate honors thesis
research examined associations of time spent using social media platforms with interpersonal and psychological outcomes.
Grace holds an M.A. in Clinical Health Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a B.S. in Psychology, Child Development, and Political Science from Vanderbilt University.
