Daisy Longoria

Research analyst

Daisy Longoria is a data analyst and researcher interested in using data to drive improvements in outcomes for children and families. At Action Research, Daisy focuses on analyzing child welfare data across multiple states to track their progress on metrics such as worker caseloads, placement stability, licensed foster home capacity, and access to mental health services. She has developed and presented strategies to quality assurance staff working at child welfare service providers, to assist them in identifying and resolving data quality concerns.

Prior to joining Action Research, Daisy studied economics and was drawn to the analytical, behavioral, and social aspects of the subject. This interest led her to focus on using the skills she gained through her studies to address social issues.

During her master’s program, she developed a research project where she expanded on existing studies and examined the relationship between individual risk preferences and the participation in preventive health behaviors.

Through her strategic consulting work, her analysis on changes in New York City’s foster home capacity over time has informed decisions on how to improve foster home recruitment strategies. She also supported the evaluation of multidisciplinary parent representation pilot programs and a clinician training program for foster care mental health professionals.

Daisy holds a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Psychology and an M.A. in Applied Economics from the University of Houston.
